Is Your Body In Need Of A Good Stretch?
Look no further! Cayden, our Commonwealth Clubhouse Manager, will be guiding you through a 20 minutes stretch session to help you relieve tightness around your body during the catch up session on Zoom!
You may ask: "Is stretching important?" Well, it sure is! Especially in older adults, muscles and joints weaken and range of movement deteriorates as we age. Stretching would play an important role in maintaining mobility in older adults and improving their blood flow and circulation within the body.
Additionally, frequent stretching keeps a proper blood and nutrient supply to the working muscles and tissues throughout the day. If you have been sitting down the whole day, stretching will also help to reduce fatigue and enable you to feel more energize!
We will start at 4pm with a short catch-up session with members. Do join us to chit chat with other members and ASPIRE55 team. The stretching session will start around 4.30pm and there would guided demonstration for each of the stretches and feedback will be provided to help you better execute the stretches correctly.
This week, Cayden will be going through a series of advanced floor stretches targeting the entire body. Mainly, there will be a greater focus on exercises targeted at stretching out your mid-body area (back and hips). You will most likely require a yoga mat for the stretch session. Alternatively, you may lay out a bath towel on the floor to perform the floor stretches comfortably.
