The immune system is the body's defense against infectious organisms and other invaders.Through a series of steps called the immune response, the immune system attacks organisms and substances that invade body systems and cause disease.

In this talk, Lynette will cover the following topics:

  • Why your immune system is so important.
  • Why with increasing age, the immune system becomes less effective making one more susceptible to infections and cancer.
  • What can be done? – 7 ways to strengthen your immunity.
  • Don’t wait until you get sick. Take prevention action to keep in good health and enjoy your senior years.
After the talk (25mins), we will have a short Q & A session (15mins) before we end off with lunch. Lynette will be bringing a light, healthy lunch to share with the group. You can also bring some food to share

  • Training – a pharmacist from Sydney Australia.
  • Almost 72 years of age.
  • Have lived in Singapore for 50 years and been involved in the evolution of Singapore’s healthcare system.
  • Held senior business positions in Pfizer (7 years) and Director of Johnson and Johnson’s pharmaceutical and medical divisions. (13 years)
  • Consultant and Board Director in numerous start-ups in the health, medical area.
  • Angel investor and CEO of Oculex Asia Pharmaceuticals, a unique drug delivery system for eye diseases. Company was sold to Allergan.
  • Main business interest is in the immune system and anti-ageing.
  • Past businesses include childcare and dance/exercise studio.
  • Wide variety of hobbies – swimming, golf, dance (Zumba, ex belly dancer), beading jewellery, dressmaking and recently bridge.
